The Joy of Mushrooms

A  Balanced And Beautiful Dance For A Successful Growing Medium

A healthy growing environment is essential for a successful mushroom crop. Like any plant or animal, fungi need a balanced and suitable environment to thrive.

Mushrooms and their growth is much like a beautiful dance of nature as they expand rapidly by absorption of fluids and create intricate networks with plants and trees, displaying the harmony and balance within ecosystems.  This process emulates the natural rhythms and patterns that govern the structure around us.

Here at Higher Visions, we prepare the ideal substrate combining hardwoods and select grains for our indoor growing mediums.

We use a sterilization process to completely eliminate all microbial life ie. competing fungi, mold, yeast, or insects that could compromise the quality or health of the new spawn (mushroom “seed.”) By heating the substrate to 250 F under 15 PSI (necessary for high-nutrient substrates and slow growing species) it produces the highest grade and contaminant free mushroom.  It’s efficient, environmentally friendly, and contributes to sustainable growing.

Optimal Mushroom Growing Environment

All of our mushrooms are grown and handled with care and love in our nursery.

Our mushrooms are grown indoors, which means we need to replicate the optimal growing environment found in nature. This level of care and control allows us to monitor energy and minimize water usage, all in an effort to reduce the impact our mushroom farming has on the environment.

Here are a few of our favorite ways to enjoy them:

-Dry and grind them into a fine powder to put into capsules or mix into coffee, tea, smoothies, or your favorite drink.

-Sauté Lion’s Mane and dip it in garlic butter. It makes a delicious lobster substitute.

-Cook and season to taste in a skillet as a main dish or a side.

What is Tallow?

Tallow is the golden treasure left behind when rich beef fat is slowly simmered and lovingly rendered. Imagine cooking a beautiful steak, collecting that precious fat, then gently transforming it through heat and time until it becomes a silky, pure golden oil leading to that creamy texture when cool.

This ancient process creates something truly special — tallow’s natural composition so closely mirrors the oils found in our own skin, allowing it to absorb beautifully and feel incredibly harmonious with the body.

Using tallow also allows us to honor the whole animal. Rather than wasting any part, we feel deeply connected to nature by using something so pure and natural in our soaps, skin balms, and lip balms.

Tallow,
A soft gift from nature.

There’s something truly enchanting about tallow. This golden ingredient has been cherished since ancient times — with the Sumerians creating tallow soap over 4,000 years ago, and the ancient Egyptians using it in their healing ointments and moisturizing balms.

Sourced from 100% grass-fed and finished cattle right here in the USA, tallow carries within it a collection of nature’s own treasures — fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K, along with lovely fatty acids that have been used for millennia.

These elements work together in harmony to deeply moisturize, soften, and care for the skin in the most comforting way. It’s no wonder we fell so completely in love with tallow.

Soft in Appearance, Powerful within.

Like our Lion’s Mane - soft and delicate on the outside, yet powerful within- our tallow skincare and mushrooms bring that same beautiful balance.

Our luxurious tallow deeply nourishes and restores your skin, while our Lion’s Mane supports nerve growth, focus, memory, mental clarity, and mood. Studies suggest it may help reduce inflammation and support gut health.
